Not sure how to use those sandwich steaks in the freezer or at Kay’s FarmStand? I have the perfect recipe that is perfect for one of those comfort meals we all make on those busy nights for dinner. Hope you enjoy:)
Ingredients:
1 small yellow onion from Kay’s FarmStand
2 teaspoons of brown sugar
1 tablespoon Worchester sauce
2 tablespoons butter
1 pound of Kay’s FarmStand Sandwich steaks
1 teaspoon garlic powder
salt & pepper
1 bell pepper sliced
1 tablespoon soy sauce
3 cups beef broth
sliced provolone cheese
hamburger rolls or bread- I made homemade bread:)
1 tablespoon Daisy Tallow Cooking Tallow
Directions:
Preheat oven 400 degrees
On my cast iron pan, put cooking tallow on cast iron and warm up pan. Once warm add on onions, butter, and sprinkle on brown sugar.
Cook for 5 minutes
Add peppers and salt and pepper.
Cook for 5 minutes
Then remove to separate plate.
On same skillet, if need to add more cooking tallow. Put sandwich steaks and season with garlic powder. Cook for a few minutes. Add Worchester sauce and soy sauce mix together and let them cook.
After sandwich steaks are cooked get your roll ready.
Spread any mustards, mayo etc. on rolls to your liking. Place sandwich steaks on rolls, onion and pepper mixture and cheese on top. Close sandwich and a cooking sheet.
Cook them in the oven for 5-10 minutes to let the cheese melt!
Let them cool and enjoy them with some homemade fries (made with potatoes from Kay’s FarmStand and beef tallow!!)
